Coconut Grove Restaurant is a multi-cuisine sea food restaurant which lies on the shore of Light House Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala. Its barely a five minute walk from E & L Nivas and also a half an hour drive from Trivandrum city. We are patnered with Coconut Grove Restaurant and we recommend our guests to try out a variety of sea foods available on this restaurant.
Coconut Grove advertises itself as a multi-cuisine seafood restaurant and it fits the bill. Squid, seer fish, prawns, lobsters, crabs... fried, grilled, roasted or as a curry. Everything is made on order. The menu is chockfull of ethnic treats such as tamarind fish curry, Kuttanadan style fish curry, fish thoran and meen pollichathu, and aloo prawns masala. We are told that the hot favourite is grilled lobster with butter garlic sauce. Calamari (squid) also is a favourite, and you get it as fry, thoran and grilled.
The Coconut Grove ‘specials’ are also worth a dekho. Try the fish basket, where you get three different preparations of fish (thoran, fried and masala), usually seer fish, along with rice. The fisherman platter, meanwhile, has fish masala, prawns fry and squid thoran with rice. Grove Oven Platter has tandoori prawns, fish tikka, squid and salad/chips, also with rice. And the biggest of them all: the seafood basket. It has lobster (roasted , fried, grilled or gravy), prawns (butter garlic/fried), squid (thoran/with cheese sauce), seasonal fish preparations as masala or with garlic oyster sauce. It goes well with coconut rice. While you are waiting for your order try learning a bit of Russian from the menu that’s got all the dishes printed in the language.
Below are a few snapshots from the restaurant. You would love this restaurant with the sea foods and also the scenic beauty of the ocean.
